Hi! I’m Tracy and I like to travel. Sounds like a self-help meeting introduction, doesn’t it? There is some truth to that–traveling is addictive. I’m not really sure where my fascination started, but I blame my mother. When I was a kid, I swear we visited every president’s house in the eastern half of the U.S.–except the closest one. We never did go to James A. Garfield’s home in Mentor, Ohio, which is only about an hour away. I made up for that when I forced my own children to visit. We also visited several national and state parks and national historic sites when I was young.
Anyway, I’ve always liked to visit new places. My motto is “Have tent, can travel” which means that you can travel even if you don’t have much money. As long as you have the cash for gas, a tent, and $20-$30 for a campsite, you can see a lot of the U.S. AND in some places, the campsites are free! You have to eat anyway–it’s already part of your regular budget.
Luckily, due to my amazing husband, Dennis, I’ve graduated from the days of tents and coolers. We have been fortunate enough to take one bigger vacation a year and two or three weekend trips. I’m a planner, so details are important to me. I have a goal to visit all fifty states by the time I turn fifty. It’s not going to happen, but that’s okay. I’ll eventually get there. Maybe by the time I turn sixty…
A little about us: I’m a teacher (junior high English) and Dennis is the co-owner of a moving company. Because he can’t take off between Memorial Day and Labor Day, we are limited to traveling during school holidays. Â If you live in Northeast Ohio or Western Pennsylvania (Youngstown, Akron, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Erie) and need a mover, check us out at www.cmcn.com). Dennis and I have five children, all between the ages of 22 and 29. The middle three have blessed us with four amazing, beautiful grandchildren who are all currently ages three and under. We are looking forward to many more trips with our kids and grandkids.
