Easy Homemade Play Dough

When J.R. was staying here recently, this Grammy was out of ideas for fun things to do. He wanted to play with Play Doh, but we didn’t have any. However, I remembered that I used to make easy homemade play dough for my own children when they were young. And, even though I was out of practice (after all, it had been at least fifteen years since I’d made play dough), I decided that making play dough would be a fun and memorable activity for a four-year-old to try.

The 2nd Annual Cleland Clan Easter Egg Hunt

If you know me, you know that I don’t make Thanksgiving, Christmas, or Easter dinner. However, there is one tradition I’m trying to establish with our growing family, and that is our annual Easter egg hunt. Last year we started this tradition with our grandchildren, the oldest of whom was almost three (read about our 2018 egg hunt). We had so much fun that we decided to hold it again this year and to involve the older “children.” By children, we mean our 20-something year old kids. After all, who doesn’t enjoy a good Easter egg hunt?

Niagara Falls: Winter’s Wonderland

Niagara Falls is a magical place, no matter what time of year. While many people think of the falls as a spring or summer tourist destination, there is plenty to see and do throughout the year. Winter gives the viewer an entirely different perspective of these magnificent waterfalls, especially when they are surrounded by snow and ice. Plus, if you visit between mid- November and January 31, you be able to see the beautiful Niagara Falls Winter Festival of Lights.

Fall Fun at White House Fruit Farm

If you live in Northeast Ohio, you’ve probably heard of White House Fruit Farm. Located in Greenford, Ohio, just south of Canfield, it’s a family-run farm and market. We pop in from time to time to browse their impressive selection of fresh fruit and vegetables and pick up a dozen of their delicious home-made donuts.

Imagine our surprise yesterday when we drove down and found the place packed! Many men would have turned around, but Dennis is one of a kind. Either that, or he really wanted a blueberry donut.
