Visiting the World Showcase at Walt Disney World’s EPCOT Center is always an interesting and enjoyable experience. If you look beyond the obvious souvenir shops, you will find amazing artists and entertainment. And, while tradition forms of art do prevail, there are also more unique creations out there. One such creation is EPCOT’s artisan cotton candy
All About the Sugar
Who creates this awesome treat?
Spun by the Chinese master artist Wenbo Zhang, EPCOT’s cotton candy can take many shapes, from beautiful butterflies to gorgeous flowers. Each sugary concoction is a work of art, and best of all, it’s created right in front of your eyes.
Where to find EPCOT’s artisan cotton candy
EPCOT’s artisan cotton candy kiosk is located in the World Showcase’s China Pavilion. To find it, you’ll need to pass through the Gate of the Golden Sun and walk to the end of the Street of Good Fortune. Wenbo Zhang’s mobile kiosk will either be inside the House of Good Fortune or directly outside. On New Year’s Eve, it was outside. Customers paid at the souvenir stand nearby and received a number before waiting in line at the cart.
Artisan cotton candy designs and prices
Customers are able to choose between two and five layers for their treat. The more detailed your treat is, the more expensive it will be. Prices started at $7.00 for a two-layered pink and white Sweet Heart and $8.00 for the blue and white butterfly dream. The 3-layered Sunrise Star was $10.50, while the 4-layered Aurora Blossom was $12.50. The most detailed cotton candy creation was the 5-layered Spring Fantasy at $16.00. A Santa’s Hat was also available during the Christmas season for $15.00.
I chose the three-layered Sunrise Star, thinking it was plenty big enough for me. Dennis doesn’t like cotton candy, so I knew it would be all mine. No bags are available, so you really can’t bag it up to take home for later.
Know Before You Go
EPCOT’s artisan cotton candy isn’t always available. It’s best to check your Times Guide to see when the artist will be working. Don’t be disappointed if Wenbo Zhang is not there when you are–he’s only one person!
You can pay for your cotton candy with cash or credit or you can charge it to your room using your magic band. You can not use a Disney Dining Plan snack credit to purchase it.
Final Thoughts
If you like cotton candy, be sure to check if Wenbo Zhang is working. It’s fascinating to watch him work even if you don’t want to purchase any. The cotton candy isn’t quite as sweet as the traditional American cotton candy, nor does each color have a distinct flavor. However, the cotton candy stand in the China Pavilion is well worth a visit on your tour of EPCOT’s World Showcase.
Oh this looks so fun!
My kids would be squealing in amazement if they were able to go there!!
Welcome back!! Cotton Candy isn’t something I’ve ever gotten hooked on and I’m not sure why, because I have a ginormous sweet tooth! BUT Disney cotton candy is probably like comparing a Rolls Royce to a Pinto! I’ll bet it’s delicious!
OMG, I love cotton candy haha! This looks so fun & delicious! I need to check out the other designs he can do!

I’m not a big fan of cotton candy, and quite honestly thought it was all the same. But this is an amazing art here! I would stop by just to watch this being made. It is crazy to know that there is only one person making these beautiful pieces of sugary art.
Mesmerizing watching this guy create his work of art. Then again, everything they do at Disney is totally entertaining!
It looks amazing and so yummy. A tasty artpiece! 💛
Wow, that is one big cotton candy. Definitely prettier than the fluffy pink one’s we’re all used to 🙂
So cool! These things are my favorite since childhood. White love to try once.
I have been to DisneyWorld too many times to count over the years. We are HUGE Disney fans!! But I had no idea about this special treat. Will definitely check it out next time …with the grandkids. They would love it!!
This is so awesome, I’m such a huge fan of cotton candy, but have only ever had the basic, regular one. It just makes any day at the fair or market that much better. Wish I was there to try out some of these amazing creations.
Crazy what he can do with the Cotton Candy! I saw this on youtube but I better it is so much better in person. You are making me hungry for this treat.
Oh wow, the artistry in this is incredible. I never would have considered cotton candy as an artistic medium, but clearly this gentleman does! I am definitely going to have to check this out if we ever make the trip there – I mean, who doesn’t love cotton candy, right? lol
Adding this to my Epcot bucket list!
Disney requires so much advance planning these days! Although we aren’t traveling right now, it’s a great time to think ahead. What a great tip to find out when this is available! I will add this to my Epcot bucket list for sure!
I know, right! I was so disappointed that we weren’t able to take our March trip.
I love reading your articles because I know and can imagine in my head where each of these places are throughout Disney World! The artistry in these pieces are amazing! I could watch these being made for hours. Like the person doing glassblowing in Mexico or the candy making on Main Street. Yeah there’s a lot of sugar but it’s vacation!
Wow – I never realised this could even been done! The only cotton candy I have ever seen has been just a single layer, single color. This just looks so cool and if you are ok with that amount of sugar, then it would have to be a must. I’m just picturing in my mind what a 5 layer one would be like!
Next time we go, I want to get the bigger one. We just need other people with us to help eat it.
